Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Is the Total Cost?

Your total depends on the programme and the number of family members applying. Add government and programme charges, agency fees, dependant costs, medical checks, insurance and document work.

Keep the fixed deposit and any compulsory property purchase separate: they are financial commitments that remain your assets, not application fees.

Estimate the relevant programme separately with the MM2H fees calculator or PVIP fees calculator.

Which Costs Are Compulsory?

Treat the programme's required financial commitments, government participation or programme fee, dependant fees and licensed agency service fee as core parts of your budget.

Translation, authentication, courier, runner and other document costs arise only when your documents or circumstances require them. Insurance premiums can be managed by choosing suitable coverage, but insurance cannot be omitted when the programme rules make it compulsory.

What If My Application Is Rejected?

A refund is not automatic. Government or programme charges may be non-refundable once paid or once processing has started.

Move2MY agency fees may be partially refundable according to the signed service agreement and the work already completed. Ask for the written refund schedule before making payment.

Can I Use Money from the Fixed Deposit?

Yes, but only part of the fixed deposit and only for approved purposes.

For MM2H, up to 50% may be withdrawn after approval for permitted property, education, medical and tourism expenses, subject to the current procedure.

For PVIP, up to 50% may be withdrawn after six months from the first PVIP endorsement for real estate, medical or education expenses. A recommendation letter from the Immigration Department is required.

How much should I budget for medical insurance?

Budget around RM500–RM2,000 or more per person for initial planning.

Age, coverage, health profile and insurer can raise the final premium, so treat this as a range rather than a quotation.
